Elon musk tweeting about his offer

For a few hours on Tuesday, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk used his verified Twitter account to talk about something other than companies he runs. The serial entrepreneur and investor tweeted about his desire to buy Twitter — and also made an offer for another social network. In one tweet, he said I want to buy it. In another, he wrote that his $20 billion price tag was absurdly high, but added: Twitter is incredibly valuable. In one of his recent tweet he officially said that i have made an offer.

Why Elon Musk want to buy Twitter

Elon Musk has revealed that he once tried to buy microblogging site Twitter, apparently hoping to save it from getting bought by a company whose values he disagrees with. In a series of tweets that have since been deleted, he said: I wanted to see if they had any interest in being acquired. At that time, they didn't. He went on to say that his offer was worth more than $US18 billion ($25 billion) and that there would be no competing bid for what is now one of the world's most valuable social media companies.

The Offer

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX, has tweeted an offer to buy Twitter for $US420 per share. The price is a 20% premium over its current share price and values it at about $US22 billion ($26 billion). We believe that there is further upside from here, he said. (Twitter is trading down 2% on Friday.)
